At 8,200 ft (2,500 m) above sea level, the Vail Alpine Gardens are one of the highest botanical gardens in the world. Originally named the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, the area sees more than 600,000 visitors each year who view the various high-elevation plants planted here.
