Widely-considered the country's premier ski destination, Vail is reputed to have the most extensive high-speed lift system in North America, along with one of the highest elevation gains of 3,450 ft (1,052 m). The resort encompasses 5,289 skiable acres (2,140 ha), 193 runs and a total of 33 lifts servicing the area. Purchasing one lift ticket in Vail also grants skiers access to the resorts of Breckenridge, Keystone and Beaver Creek. In addition to featuring world-class skiing, the mountain and town offer a variety of activities, numerous lodging and dining choices and plenty of apres ski options.
